Article: Student Experiences in Darfur & Omdurman | Ahfad University for Women

Sudan faces the world’s largest humanitarian crisis, with conflict driving mass displacement, collapsing services, and widespread violence. Despite this, Ahfad University for Women, which serves as the Vice-Chair of UN Academic Impact SDG Hub 1, is still engaging with communities across Sudan to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Buthaina Mamour Musa is a third-year student at Ahfad University for Women who believes that Sudanese youth and women have a vital role to play in supporting rural communities across the country. Buthaina shared her experiences with us in Darfur and rural Omdurman, highlighting youth volunteering, women’s leadership, and agriculture as inclusive, community-led solutions strengthening resilience in crisis-affected communities.
