Call for Articles for a special issue of the European Journal of Women’s Studies

Women’s and gender studies have increasingly become a target of anti-gender, far-right and authoritarian politics, therefore there is a necessity for international research on how these developments are reshaping academic cultures, scholarly practice, teaching and learning, and the place of women’s and gender studies within universities across local, regional and transnational contexts. 

This special issue welcomes contributions that explore these transformations and reflect on the political, epistemological and ethical questions they raise.

The participants are invinted to send abstracts of 150-200 words by the below deadlines. 

Abstract deadline: 1 Nov 2026

Article deadline: 31 March 2027
