From Friday, November 24, 2023 at 09:00 to Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 13:00CIRSDe (Interdisciplinary Center for Women's and Gender Research and Studies - University of Turin) is organizing the international conference titled "Beyond Genders.  Intersectionality between theory and practice. Born within the Anglo-American legal discourse, the concept of intersectionality highlights the existence of social hierarchies or compartimentations by describing the oppression and discrimination caused by belonging to multiple groups and/or categories such as gender, sex, class, ethnicity, religion, age, disability or sexual orientation.

While in some disciplines, such as in gender studies, the concept of intersectionality is known, in others it remains a little investigated concept, and the search for a defined identity, especially in its concrete consequences. Therefore, the conference wants to present itself as an opportunity for dialogue between different disciplines in order to produce reflections on this topic.

There is no cost for participation in the conference. However, registration is required by September 30, 2023, specifying whether you have submitted a contribution and you must fill out the registration form.

The deadline for abstract submission is June 15, 2023. The abstract should be sent to the following e-mail address: beyondgenders@unito.itAcceptance of the proposal will be communicated by July 15, 2023.
