Call for Fellowship: Käte Hamburger Kolleg: Cultures of Research
The Käte Hamburger Kolleg: Cultures of Research invites applications from scholars in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, biological sciences, and technical sciences. In particular, it emphasizes its interest in the concepts of “digitality/complexity,” “globality/diversity of science,” and “expanded STS.”
For the year 2026/2027, research will focus on the theme of “varieties of science.” Proposals may address:
- Studies comparing countries and their respective cultural and institutional contexts in which research is conducted
- Methodological approaches to analyzing the differences between these cultural and institutional research contexts
- Studies on a specific variety of science that examine relevant aspects of the knowledge production system in a selected country
Fellows will join the international center for a maximum of 12 months and a minimum of 6.
Applications are open to postdoctoral researchers and senior researchers. Applications, which must be submitted in English, should include a curriculum vitae, a cover letter, a list of publications, a writing sample, and an exposé in which the candidate presents their research project and its relationship to the program.
