Call for papers| Gender and Sexualities Conference

The Department of Gender and Sexualities at the University of Malta, in collaboration with the Human Rights Directorate, is organizing the Gender and Sexualities Conference, which will take place on the 6th and 7th of May 2026.

The conference promises to be an enriching event featuring a variety of themes, including:

• Feminist, queer, trans, and decolonial approaches
• Bodies, identities, and cultural representations
• Gender, sexuality, and power in institutions
• Inequalities, rights, and gender-based violence
• Global, historical, and transnational perspectives
• Emerging issues: digital cultures, climate justice, disability, and sex work.

Submissions in the following formats are welcome:

• Individual paper (250–300-word abstract)
• Pre-organized panel (3–4 papers)
• Creative/artistic work (300-word concept note)
• Poster (200-word abstract)

 Deadline: 1st December 2025.

Selected papers will be published on "Astarte: Mediterranean Journal on Gender and Sexualities".
