Call for papers: Thinking Agriculture from the Margins: Intersectional Perspectives
This call for papers invites scholars and practitioners to rethink agriculture from the margins, exploring how marginalized perspectives reshape agricultural practices, sustainability, and social justice. Traditional farming has often been portrayed as male-dominated, but the growing visibility of women, migrant workers, queer individuals, and other marginalized groups challenges this view.
We seek contributions on themes such as:
- Gender and sexual relations in rural life and agricultural labor
- Queer experiences and their role in sustainable farming
- Migration, racism, and their impact on agriculture
- Disability-inclusive practices for adaptive farming
- Human and more-than-human relationships in agriculture
- Case studies promoting sustainability and justice
- Future visions and policy suggestions for just agricultural systems
We welcome diverse formats, including research papers, theoretical reflections, and creative engagements.
