Call for Papers: What's Left of Sexual Democracy? Ideals, Critiques, Struggles
The Newcastle University issues a call for paper for its upcoming conference What's Left of Sexual Democracy? Ideals, Critiques, Struggles, which is taking place on 25-27 May 2023.
The conference welcomes international keynote speakers Shireen Hassim and Eric Fassin. Over the course of two days, it will feature panels of UK-based scholars based on the following conference themes:
- (Re)Imagining Sexual Citizenship
- Queer Circuits of Global Capital, Global Circuits of Queer Capital
- Sexes, Genders, Authoritarianisms
- Law, Violence, and Erotic Justice
- Thinking Sexual Democracy from the Outside.
Postgraduate (doctoral) and early career researchers are invited to submit an abstract in order to participate to the panel ‘The Futures of Sexuality Studies’.
Deadline for submission: Wednesday March 15th, 2023.
