Call for Papers: Women in the history of philosophy or Controversial truths. Women philosophers and thinkers and the other history of science

Gender Campus, a platform for gender studies, equality and diversity in Swiss universities, has launched a Call for Papers entitled Women in the history of philosophy or Controversial Truths. Women philosophers and thinkers and the other history of science.

The Call invites applicants to submit proposals that critically reflect on the theories, concepts and works of German-speaking philosophers and thinkers, as well as related perspectives, and thus enrich the history of science from the perspective of gender studies. There are no disciplinary limits to the fields in which these thinkers were/are active or accepted: they include psychology, medicine, natural sciences, astronomy, environmental sciences, mathematics, music, literature, politics, social sciences, and the humanities.

The aim is to raise awareness of the work of these mostly unknown philosophers, scientists and thinkers and to link it to current social issues and problems. In addition to the biographical context, the contributions will therefore include a contextualization of the history of theory and ideas and a reference to current social debates and challenges.

Deadline for abstract submission: 10 March 2024.
Attached, you can consult the official website of the Call for Papers.
