Film&Equality 2026 Project
An internship opportunity is available for university students passionate about cinema and gender equality at the Venice Film Festival. Now in its fourth edition, the Film&Equality 2026 project conceived by the Regional Equality Councillor of the Veneto Region, Dr. Francesca Torelli, examines whether and to what extent the films screened at the Venice Film Festival contribute to challenging gender stereotypes, while offering interested students the opportunity to participate in field research that will enhance their CV.
The internship will take place in a hybrid format (on-site and remote) and will consist of 150 hours.
Required languages: Italian, English, or another language in which the applicant is proficient.
Activities will include:
- Developing a method for analyzing films from a gender perspective during workshop sessions.
- Taking an active role at the Venice Film Festival by presenting the project to an international audience.
- Administering questionnaires to audiences to measure viewers’ awareness and the films’ ability to challenge gender stereotypes.
- Completing analysis forms for each film viewed (a 5-minute questionnaire plus a brief critical review).
- Working as part of a team to collect and analyze data and produce a final project report.
