Thinking Care Beyond the Visible - Training School in Athens, Greece
Three day training school 12-14 June 2026 in Athens, Greece, hosted by EIGHT / ΤΟ ΟΧΤΩ, critical institute for arts and politics, Athen.
Through a series of conjunctures over 3 days, there will be discussion beyond conventional ideas of care to explore the creative, sensual and sensorial, yet often invisible and immaterial aspects of care. Moreover, how can care be disentangled from its transactional value to imagine possibilities of collective support that go beyond state-sanctioned ideas of how we should care, who does the caring, and who receives care.
Contributions from academics, artists, creatives, activists, theorists, and researchers who have developed or are developing ideas, frameworks, and/or projects that set out to consider care beyond the visible are weclomed. Proposals with an open format approach (from textual, oral, audio-visual to performative modes of presentation) will be accepted. More information about application process can be found in the attached file.
The program can cover 350 EUR for long-distance travel and up to 199 EUR per diem for 3 participants.
