Embroidering Resistance: Arpilleras and the Transversality of Feminist Activism in Latin America

On Monday 13 March 2023 at 13:30pm will take place the Multi-disciplinary Gender Research Seminar, held by the University of Cambridge Centre for Gender Studies, during which Dr Dillon, Research Fellow in Latin American Studies, will explore the way feminist sewing collectives in Latin America use embroidery in campaigns for social justice

There will be a reflection on collaborative initiatives such as a travelling textile book called the "The Itinerant Book", along with the discussion on groups like Mujeres Tejiendo Sueños y Sabores de Paz, and the Bordadoras de Villa Frei.

If you would like to attend online, register your place in advance before Monday 13 March at 10:00am here.
