L’anima senza il corpo gioca

L'anima senza il corpo gioca  is a project created by the internationally renowned artist Liliana Moro for the Library of Ancient Sciences, Art and music at the University of Padua, located in the Palazzo Liviano, through which the University was awared funding under the PAC-Plan for Contemporary Art 2025 from the Directorare-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture, obtaining the highest score in the competition session.

The new acquisition enriches the Silenzi Eloquenti collection, the first university collection dedicated to female artistic production, inagurated last May thanks to the PAC 2024 funding. The project involved the display of four works by Mirella Bentivoglio and Silvia Giambrone in four different libraries of the University of Padua, thereby challenging the idea of neutral and universal knowledge.

"We want to spark a reflection on gender inequality and women's rights in spaces traditionally devoted to the transmission and preservation of culture" emphasize Sebastiano Miccoli, Director of the University of Padua's Library Center. "Within these spaces, contemporary art creates a meaningful disruption, breaking down the notion of neutral and universal knowledge and encouranging new reflections on issues of urgent relevance".

Work on the new piece is scheduled to begin in October, with the results to be presented to the public in spring 2026 during a series of events with the artist, aimed at both the student community and the general public.
