
Symposium on International Women in Mathematics Day
Tuesday 6 June, from 10.30 to 11.30, department of Mathematics of University of Delhi organises a symposium in hybrid mode to celebrate women in Mathematics.
The main purpose of the event is to celebrate the achievements of women Mathematicians and to provide young students, especially females, an opportunity to interact with accomplished female researcher.
The lecture will be held by Dr. Nikita Argawal, who is an associate professor at IISER, working in the area of pure and applied dynamical systems. She will celebrate Maryam Mirzakhani, the first woman who received the Fields Medal in 2014, since its inception in 1936. Mirzakhani has made important contributions to several areas of Mathematics, including algebric topology, geometry and ergodic theory.
